Driving to Work

Everyone, say hi to Shiner, the newest employee of the Yay Bikes! headquarters:

Oh hai there!
Shiner is a 2 1/2 month old Rat Terrier puppy, and with the coming of the puppy, have come some (admittedly expected) effects on my life - namely, I'm driving to work every day so I can come home at lunch to let out He of the Tiny Bladder! The horror?

I'm also unable to do my usual groove at the Thursday Night Social Ride until he's old enough to handle me being gone from 7:30 - 5:30, then again from 6:30 - Midnight.  It's not fair on the puppy to expect him to handle those durations of absence without a damn good reason other than "I REALLY REALLY WANT TO", so for the meantime I'm only cycling on a local-errand-running and recreational level.  I've had times in the past few years where injuries, commute distance, and other circumstances have prevented me from being the vehicular cyclist we all know and love, but curiously, when my utility cycling goes down, my enjoyment of my "for fun" cycling goes up, as does my tendency to go exploring.

So for the meantime, I'm doing my best to be that driver who Shares the Road, and to (of course), teach Shiner how to ride a bike!
